Working with Students

The task of ‘learning history’ can be as engaging as it is complex. It's important not only to think 'critically' in the 21st century, but also to approach historical thinking like a 'curator'. Those 'curatorial' skills require great lots of practice to become proficient. CanHist can help with that.

The projects designed by Defining Moments Canada have these skills embedded in all of their learning challenges. Teachers can use the Lesson Plans, while students can master curatorial thinking skills through learning strategies like the models below.
